I’m still kicking myself over this because it was such a stupid mistake. I was trying to parallel park near JBR last weekend and there was this really tight spot that I thought I could squeeze into, but I misjudged the distance and scraped my front passenger side rim against the curb pretty hard. It made this horrible grinding noise that made me wince and when I got out to check, I saw a nasty gash about three inches long along the edge of the rim, plus some deep scratches around the spokes. The car is a 2020 BMW 5 Series with those beautiful diamond-cut alloys that came with the M Sport package, and honestly just looking at it makes me feel sick because it was in perfect condition before this happened. I’ve been researching whether these kinds of damages can actually be repaired properly or if I’m looking at having to buy a whole new rim, which I know is going to be insanely expensive from the dealership. I found Accomplished Rims Repair at 800Sayara Dubai and their portfolio looks really impressive, they seem to specialize in exactly this kind of work with matching the original finish and even repairing structural damage if it’s not too severe. What I’m most worried about is whether the repair will actually hold up over time, especially with the heat and the vibrations from driving, or if it’s just going to look good for a few months and then start flaking or showing signs of the repair. Also, I’m concerned about the structural integrity because even though it’s just the edge that got damaged, I don’t know if the impact could have compromised the rim in a way that isn’t visible. Has anyone here had a diamond-cut rim repaired in Dubai and can share how it turned out long term? I’d really appreciate hearing some real experiences before I decide whether to repair or replace.
