After years of dead zones, dropped connections, and endless frustration, I finally invested in proper home Wi-Fi networking & mesh systems and mesh systems and wanted to share what worked. Not promoting any brand specifically, just sharing the experience of going from terrible to excellent coverage.
My situation:
3,200 sq ft two-story home with basement
Construction has lots of concrete and metal (interferes with signals)
40+ connected devices (scary when I actually counted)
ISP-provided router/modem combo was clearly inadequate
What I learned:
The problem wasn’t just the router—it was placement, interference, and outdated equipment. Professional assessment identified problem areas I didn’t even know existed. The solution involved both better equipment and strategic placement of access points.
