Hey everyone,
Quick question for locals in Cottonwood Heights or nearby areas — have you noticed if living close to ski resorts affects your car insurance premiums?
I recently moved near the base of Big Cottonwood Canyon, and while I love the access to the slopes, I’m starting to wonder if my location is playing a role in my rising rates. Between the heavy winter traffic, increased out-of-town drivers, and icy road conditions, it wouldn’t surprise me if insurers treat this area as higher risk.
I’m shopping around for better Salt Lake City insurance options and would really appreciate any insight. Has anyone here seen a difference in premiums just based on ZIP code or proximity to the canyons?
Would love to hear what companies have worked best for you or any tips on how to get around these location-based rate hikes.
